Nes and Helgøya are known for their rich and diverse flora, with between 600 and 700 different plant species. This creates ideal conditions for beekeeping in the area.

With up to 30 beehives, we produce a variety of honey both for sale and for our own use. We also work with breeding programs, producing queen bees and test queens in collaboration with the Norwegian Beekeepers Association. A mating station is located at Åsbakken on Helgøya, which is also a breeding zone for the Carnica bee.

Our Products
Summer Honey

Made primarily from nectar gathered from willow, fruit blossoms, raspberry flowers, dandelions, clover, and crucifer flowers. This is a light and mild honey. In some years, weather conditions also allow us to produce specialty honeys such as linden honey.

Heather Honey

For this honey, the bees are transported to the Rendalen mountains to collect nectar from heather flowers. Heather honey is rich in antioxidants and contains natural compounds traditionally valued for soothing colds. It has a stronger flavor than summer honey, a softer texture, and a darker color.

“Halsgodt” – Soothing Honey

Honey infused with essential oils. We offer two varieties:

  • Anise and thyme
  • Peppermint

A small spoonful is especially soothing during colds and sore throats.

Lip Balm

Made from coconut oil, beeswax, almond oil, and eucalyptus oil.
