Helgøya Klatrepark
Climbing park and unique accomodation
Helgøya Klatrepark — one of Norway’s most beautiful climbing parks — is set in stunning natural surroundings on the western side of idyllic Helgøya in Ringsaker Municipality. Welcome!
You’ll find us on scenic Helgøya, about two hours from Oslo and one hour from Lillehammer and Sjusjøen. Here, everyone can feel like a champion, strengthen friendships, and enjoy exciting adventures high among the trees in 14 different climbing courses.
The park also features 20 zip lines, including one of the longest zip lines in any Norwegian climbing park at 430 meters. In total, we offer 160 climbing elements. Recent highlights include “Helgøyastupet,” a 14-meter jump, a new blue-level course, and a children’s zip line course with four zip lines for kids aged 6–11.
You are welcome to bring your own food, and we provide free-to-use grills. Meals can be enjoyed outdoors with fantastic views of Lake Mjøsa or inside our large and cozy lavvu tent. Group meals cooked over open fire pans are also available by pre-order.
A small kiosk sells ice cream, soft drinks, chocolate, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
Opening Hours
The climbing park is open during all school holidays and public school breaks from around Easter until mid-October, daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We also open for groups outside regular opening hours almost year-round — please contact us at post@helgoyaklatrepark.no.
During weekends and summer holidays, we recommend reserving harnesses in advance through our website.
Accommodation in Suspended Tents
We rent out five suspended “floating tents,” each accommodating up to three adults. The tents are set up in and around the climbing park and nearby shelter areas. Guests have access to an outdoor toilet, fresh water, and waste disposal facilities.
Please bring your own sleeping mats and sleeping bags. Breakfast packages and chicken wok meals (minimum 6 people) can also be ordered in advance.
Treehouse Accommodation
We also offer a unique treehouse stay in “Klatrehytta,” located on the edge of the climbing park. The cabin was built in collaboration with Tretopphyttene AS and Treehouse Masters (Pete Nelson/Animal Planet). A dedicated TV program about the construction was released in Norway in 2017.
The treehouse can be booked through
Tretopphytter.no
Accommodation at Hønehuset
“Hønehuset” is located just below the climbing park and close to many attractions on Nes and Helgøya. The standard is simple but cozy, perfect for groups of friends, large families, or several families traveling together.
The house includes a dormitory with 10 beds on the second floor and a simple kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, and even a swing.
The hosts, Elisabeth and Bjørn, live just across the road and are dedicated to making guests feel welcome and well taken care of.
